Aisam-Rojer in third round
Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his partner Rojer Jean-Julien reached the third round of Wimbledon by wining their second round match 3-1 in London on Friday.
Aisam and Rojer, ranked 12th and 21st, respectively, defeated the pair of Bobby Reynolds of US and Izak Van Der Merwe of South Africa 6-3, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4. The defeated pair made their entry in the grand slam by winning the qualifying rounds.
Aisam and Rojer started the game quite well and won the first set 6-3, but lost the second 7-6. Aisam and Rojer came hard on their opponents to win the third set 6-4. They repeat the score, 6-4, in the fourth set to ensure their entry in the third round of the grand slam.
Aisam gave his best Wimbledon performance in 2010 when he reached the quarterfinals of the grand slam.
Rojer has reached the second round of the Wimbledon twice: in 2009 and 2011. Aisam and Rojer have won two ATP 250 tournaments this year.
